The White Board

Plans, Goals, and Ideas for 2025

I have spoken with some privately about my virtual whiteboard, until now it was the spreadsheet I maintained with my brewing schedule, along with some ideas rattling around in my head. Time to extend the whiteboard with other ideas and possible plans for the near future.

Goals

  • Looking to establish my flagship/signature brews.
    • By flagship, arbitrarily six beers that will be in some form of regular rotation.
    • By signature, establish a set of recipes that will become part of the repertoire.
  • Continue to adjust and tweak recipes for the flagship and signature collection.
  • Develop my own Imperial Stout, I have been using someone else’s recipes until now.
  • Undertake my evolution series for 2025. Read the post.
  • Make a beer style I haven’t made before. Belgian Blonde!!!
  • Boring techie type stuff with the website.
    • Improve SEO, that is search engine optimisation.
      • Reformat recipes to conform to a common look and feel.
      • Refresh descriptions and keywords in the posts.
    • Extend the social media presence
    • More to follow

Flagship Beer

The flagship list is still a work in progress, although the two stouts have likely been locked in.

  1. Irish Stout, right now my favourite recipe was for St. Patrick’s Day 2024
  2. Oatmeal Stout, this recent recipe had an amazing chocolate/coffee/mocha flavour
  3. Best Bitter, I ran short on base malts, and used a large amount of Munich Malt in a batch, and tasted really good, I even got compliments that it was quite possibly my best beer yet
  4. English Porter, still in development, my recent brown porter is in serious contention
  5. English IPA, still in development
  6. TBD, although my Burton Ale from last year was impressive

Signature Beer

The signature list will likely change on a whim, although it’s a great start.

  1. Strong Bitter, the Red Rye Bitter has great potential
  2. Irish Extra Stout
  3. Irish Red Ale
  4. British Brown Ale, this one at bottling time was delicious. I reserve the right to bump it to a flagship.
